The Brière région is original, even by its status.History itself has confered its originality to the Brière: the marsh is actually the joint property of the inhabitants of the 21 riparian parishes. This is attested by the Letters of Patent of François II Duc of Brittany in 1461 and this right has been perpetuated up to the present day.The people from Brière have keep their pride, their indépendance and their attachement to their marsh.'
